Package Coalition Issues Statement on FY2025 USPS Annual Financial Report
Washington, DC - The Package Coalition Chairman John McHugh issued the following statement after the U.S. Postal Service released its fiscal year (FY) 2025 financial report:
“The United States Postal Service plays a vital role in America’s political, economic, and social infrastructure, especially in rural America where communities depend on the Postal Service to deliver where private carriers will not. From big cities to small towns, the Postal Service is there to deliver to every doorstep, six days a week.
The Postal Service’s critical role stems from its core mission: affordable delivery to every address. Recent financial reports make clear the Postal Service must realign its operations with this mission. By focusing on what it does best—final mile delivery of both mail and packages to every American household—the Postal Service can move forward on the path toward financial stability and improved service performance.
For 250 years, small businesses, rural families, seniors, and veterans have relied on the Postal Service to communicate with loved ones and receive essential medicines and goods. Preserving this lifeline for all Americans, while ensuring its financial stability, requires reforms that strengthen the Postal Service’s historic commitment to universal, affordable delivery.”
