Package Coalition Responds to Postal Service’s Preliminary Financial Results for April 2020

Washington, D.C. - The Package Coalition released the following statement today from Coalition Chairman John McHugh regarding the United States Postal Service’s preliminary financial results for April 2020:

“The Postal Service’s financial results continue to raise concerns and underscore the importance of Congress providing COVID emergency assistance for emergency needs. The economic fallout of COVID-19 has caused letter mail volumes to plummet. Thankfully the Postal Service’s competitive package delivery business continues to be a bright spot. Now more than ever with people at home and out of work the Postal Service’s affordable package delivery business is a lifeline for Americans across the country, especially for seniors and others living in remote and rural areas.”
